Fine Threads Clothing ~ Frequently Asked Questions:

SPECIAL REQUESTS:

We are a small home-based business and as such have the flexibility to accomodate special orders. If you see a design on our website but not on the garment you want, let us know - if we have the blank garments we are happy to put any of our designs on any of our garments - just ask and we will try to accomodate your special requests.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:

STONEWASHED COTTON GARMENTS: Our Stonewashed cotton jackets and pullovers have all gone through a rigorous washing process and are preshrunk to final sizing. For longer life, we suggest turning inside out to wash, using the gentle machine cycle, mild detergent and NO bleach. Tumble dry on low. Hanging to dry will extend the life of these garments, though regular wash cycles and warm dryers are acceptable. If required, iron on reverse using a pressing cloth.
COTTON SWEATERS: Our organic cotton sweaters are all prewashed and dried prior to embroidery. We suggest washing garments inside out on the gentle cycle, using mild detergent and NO bleach. Hanging to dry will extend the life of these garments, though regular wash cycles and warm dryers are acceptable. If required, iron on reverse using a pressing cloth.
POLY/ACRYLIC BLENDS, FAUX FURS: Turn garments inside out to wash. We suggest hand or machine washing with cold water on the gentlest cycle using mild soap and NO bleach. Hang to dry, or tumble dry on the coolest cycle.
BOUCLE WOOL BLENDS: Gently hand washing and hanging to dry is recommended for the Boucle Wool/Acrylic/Poly blends. Use mild detergent and NO bleach.
WOOL/VISCOSE BLENDS: Our new wrap jackets are a blend of wool and viscose. Drycleaning is recommended, as generous shrinkage must be expected with hand or machine washing.
SUPER FINE MERINO WOOL: Our cowl neck pullovers are 100% superfine Merino wool. These can be machine washed on a cold, gentle cycle using a mild detergent and NO bleach. Hang to dry.
SILK SCARVES: The burnt silk scarves are a blend of rayon and silk. These can be gently handwashed in a sink with cool water and mild soap. Some "bleeding" may be noticed the first wash or two - this is to be expected and won't affect the vibrancey of the scarf. Hang to dry. To regain the shimmering look, iron using a warm iron and gently push in the direction of the nap. Beautiful!

Gentle care will give you many years of enjoyment from your Fine Threads clothing.

SIZING:

Most of our garments are standard women's sizing, ranging from XS to XXL, and generally meet the following equivalents:
XS= Size 2-4, SMALL=Size 6-8, MEDIUM=Size 10-12, LARGE-Size 14-16, XL=Size 18, XXL=Size 20+

Our Stonewashed garments are men's sizing so we suggest women order one size down from their usual size.
Our Bonded Fleece Coats fit large, and usually women prefer to wear one size down in these as well.
Both our Cotton Sweaters and Stonewashed Garments have been prewashed so only minor shrinkage, if any, need be expected.

STYLING THE WRAP JACKET:

Our new "Hildur Wrap" jacket is our most fun garment to wear - playing with the closures gives you many varied looks and styling options. Illustrated here are some suggestions. Try varying the placement of the kilt pin, or tying the corners to get completely different looks. Have fun and play!
